A Game Of Thrones By George RR Martin

 Synopsis

"Summer span decades. Winter can last a lifetime. And the struggle for the Iron Throne has begun."

"As Warden of the north, Lord Eddard Stark counts it a curse when King Robert bestows on him the office of the Hand. His honor weighs him down at court where a true man does what he will, not what he must … and a dead enemy is a thing of beauty"

"The old gods have no power in the south, Stark’s family is split and there is treachery at court. Worse, the vengeance-mad heir of the deposed Dragon King has grown to maturity in exile in the Free Cities. He claims the Iron Throne."

This is the book that  really introduced me to GRRM's works and the fantasy genre as a whole, which I had been meaning to get into months before.

The book itself took me two months to get into, mainly because  the sheer length of the novel deterred me from it.

The beginning of the novel seemed to be rather flawed and quite confusing , but this should not put anyone off reading it, because as it progresses you will see that it is definitely worth the read.

When I  finally  dove into it, I honestly could not put it down. The world that George RR Martin creates was diverse and imaginative beyond belief. With a plot that meticulously combats both political turmoil and heroism and dares to be different, George RR Martin successfully produces an incredibly captivating novel.

In a battle for a throne forged by the  steel of fallen foes; lords and ladies, kings and queens all fight for a their worlds holy grail, the Iron Throne.  Who will win? Who will die?

Venture into this splendid tale and find out.
